Mauri's pride: Havildar Rajvir Singh Sheoran
Havildar Rajvir Singh Sheoran (4 Jat) gave his life in the Kargil war (Operation Vijay). On 17 May 1999, in Capt Amit Bhardwaj's team searching for Lt Saurabh Kalia's patrol, he gave covering fire so his comrades could pull back, and died of his wounds. Army records list his village as Maudi (Mori).
Mauri village: the 2011 census counted 595 households and 3,253 people, with 77.2% literacy.
