Wedding Light Decoration for Home, Street and Pandal, Plus Generator Backup

At a night wedding, the first thing anyone notices is the lighting. A glowing house tells everyone from afar that there's a wedding here. The right wedding light decoration turns a simple courtyard into a palace, and the right generator keeps the function going when the power fails. "Light" is in the name of Bharat Tent & Light House, Khorra, and we have been lighting village weddings since 1995: we bring the jhalar, LED lights and generator to your home, put them up, and take them down and back after the wedding. Here is the complete guide, from a tent house's view.
1. Lighting the house
For the house, this is what we put up:
- Jhalar lights hanging down from the roof and walls
- LED strings on windows and doors
- Colourful decoration on the main door
Tell us your dates and we'll light the house a few days before the wedding, so haldi, mehndi and the other rituals feel festive too.
2. Street and path lighting
The baraat and guests arrive through the street, so you need jhalar along both sides of the street and good lighting along the path. Tell us the length of the street and we'll bring enough jhalar to light all of it. Guests won't struggle in the dark, and the whole neighbourhood looks festive. On the groom's side, this same street lighting is what carries the ghudchadhi and nikasi.
3. Entry gate and walkway
At the entry gate we put up lights with drapes, and we make a lit walkway from the gate to the stage. The bride's entry looks best in photos and video right here. Ideas for the gate and stage: how to decorate a wedding stage.
4. Pandal and stage lighting
When we set up the pandal and stage, we do their lighting along with it:
- Full lighting inside the pandal, with no dark corners
- An LED and jhalar backdrop behind the stage
- Jhoomar (chandeliers) in the pandal and over the stage for a royal look at night
- Focus lights on the couple during the varmala and pheras, so photos and video come out clear
- Bright separate lighting at the food counters, so the halwai and servers can work easily
5. Generator on rent
Village power supply is unreliable, and a power cut right at the pheras or dinner is the biggest worry. Generator backup is a must at every wedding, and we bring the generator along with the lights.
- Tell us what will run on it: lights, DJ and sound, coolers in summer, the halwai's needs
- We size the generator to that load
- We place the generator a little away from the pandal so noise and fumes don't reach guests
6. Budget lighting tips
- Put the most light on the house front, entry gate and stage
- Jhalar and LED give a lot of glow for little cost
- Take tent, lights and generator from one place: one responsibility, lower cost. Bringing, setting up and taking back is our job
- Tell us your budget and we'll do the lighting to your satisfaction for that amount
- See our light decoration & generator page for details
